Farm

Our History
Shady Glen Farms started in 1975 as a four-stall barn, and over the next three-plus decades, grew to a fifty-five stall operation. The wins piled up and so did the National Championships and Top Ten awards. Joe became a nationally recognized trainer who had the ability to find horses who were under achievers and in a short time turn them into National winners. They were often purchased by big farms and continued their show career with many more National wins. Top trainers would seek Joe out to purchase horses that would put their clients in the “winners circle”.

Several years ago Joe gave up his training and lesson programs but continues to raise, breed and show great horses for enjoyment and relaxation.

In 2008, Shady Glen Farms downsized its operations. Joe sold the Purina Store he had owned since 1997 and its inventory.  It continued as a Purina Store then changed hands again but remains a feed store to this day. The farm moved to Bradford, Ohio where the results are the same, only on a smaller basis. When you visit the new farm in Bradford, you will notice the beautiful view and feel a sense of peacefulness.
